The constant current misconception
The current supplied by the battery increases - there isn’t a constant current that just splits differently
You can tell from the question that the lamp will draw 1 A when it’s connected across this battery. So if you connect another identical lamp in parallel, that will have the same p.d. across it, and must draw 1 A as well.
So the total current supplied by the battery must increase to 2 A.
